PLATANUS acerifolia – London Plane Tree

Product Details

London Plane Tree

The leaves are large, leathery and palmately lobed. They spread from a central point, like the fingers on your hand and reminiscent of the maple leaf. The mid-green leaves contrast with the grey bark, which will peel and fall off in plates to reveal the creamy coloured fresh wood underneath. An excellent shade, avenue or street tree, it’s also popular for pollarding. Deciduous, the green leaves will turn yellow to orange in Autumn before falling. Grows to 12 x 5m

Suitable for: Shade, avenue planting, pollarding.

Features: Attractive bark pattern when mature, large maple-like leaves.
