The regimented, symmetrical nature of the Turkish Hazel makes for an imposing look that makes it a popular choice for street and avenue plantings. The large slightly lobed leaves have a serrated edge and are colored the healthiest shade of green in spring, which is when they are joined by yellow catkins. These are followed clusters of nuts held within a deeply fringed husk. Also noted for the corky trunk, this deciduous tree will grow to 8 x 4m.
