Product Details
Italian Alder
Hailing from Southern Italy, the heart shaped leaves are dark green and glossy. They’ll be amongst the first to arrive in spring and last to leave in winter. During which time, yellow-brown male catkins in groups of 3 to 6 provide early pollen for insects. With pruning, it’s suitable for screening and is often used in avenue and street plantings, where its conical form will grow up to 10 x 5m. Suitable for most sites including damp ground, it’s a hardy tree that grows quickly.
Suitable for: Avenue or street planting, group planting and screening.
