ACER saccharum – Sugar Maple

Product Details

Sugar Maple

As you might guess from the name, this maple is often used to produce maple syrup, particularly in the northeastern region of the USA where it grows natively. During summer months, the large 3 to 5 lobed leaves are a bright green. They’re larger than normal maple leaves, forming a generous canvas for the orange and red hues that arrive as Autumn progresses. This hardy, deciduous tree will grow up to 15 metres and is suited to mass plantings or as a specimen.

Suitable for: Mass planting, avenues, specimen planting.

Features: Impressive orange to red autumn colour, sap can be used to make maple syrup.

Botanical Name: ACER saccharum
