Paper Bark Maple

Known for it’s peeling bark of mahogany, revealing a chestnut brown trunk underneath, this is an ornamental tree with a most attractive branch structure. Small and ornamental, it’s almost a perfect picture of a tree you might create in your mind. Unsurprisingly, it makes for a spectacular courtyard trees. This is particularly true when those leaves with 3 leaflets, turn from the lime green of summer to a warming orange/red in Autumn. Hardy and deciduous, expect slow growth to 6 x 4m
