PODOCARPUS totara – NZ Native Totara

Product Details

NZ Native Totara

In decline in the wild since the arrival of Europeans, the Totara’s are known as New Zealand’s forest giants. With its dark green to brown foliage, which becomes dense and complicated, the NZ native is typically hardy (the decline in numbers was mostly caused by clearing land for agriculture and wildfires). It will respond well to pruning to create a tough hedge or screen which is known to be stock resistant. As you’d expect, it’s quite at home in coastal areas and wind hardy. Evergreen, it will grow to 6 x 4m

Suitable for: Group planting, hedging and screening.

Features: Hardy, stock resistant, can be clipped into a hedge.
