As the days grow shorter and the crispness of Autumn settles in, we are reminded of the ever-changing beauty of the world around us. Here in Southland, the transition from Summer to Autumn brings with it a vibrant transformation. The once lush greens of the trees fade into fiery reds, oranges, and yellows, painting the landscape in a way that can only be described as magical.
This season, we are also witnessing a beautiful change right here at Easy Big Trees. Just as nature undergoes its seasonal transformation, our logo, too, shifts to reflect the spirit of Autumn and the deep roots we have in Southland’s heritage.
The Changing of the Easy Big Trees Logo: A Reflection of Autumn
Every year, Easy Big Trees embraces the changing seasons with a special update to our logo. From the bright, lively greens of Summer, we shift to rich, earthy tones that mirror the warmth and depth of Autumn. This subtle change in our logo, from the vivid greens of the warmer months to the deep reds and ambers of fall, highlights the season’s themes of change, growth, and resilience.
It’s not just about the colour shift; it’s about acknowledging the passing of time and the cycles of nature. As we move from the growth of Summer into the mellow richness of Autumn, our logo takes on the hues of the season, symbolising our commitment to sustainability and our connection to the land we hold dear. Just like the trees we nurture, we honour the rhythms of nature, adapting and flourishing alongside it.
Autumn and Southland’s Heritage
Southland, with its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage, is the heart of Easy Big Trees. The arrival of Autumn is deeply tied to the region’s history and traditions. The vibrant foliage, which begins its colourful transformation in March, evokes the same sense of connection that early Southland settlers felt as they made their homes amidst the sprawling forests and vast plains.
For many, Autumn in Southland is more than just a season — it’s a time to reflect on the region’s legacy. Today, we continue to honour the heritage by planting and caring for trees that will thrive for generations, ensuring that the rich traditions of Southland are carried forward in a sustainable way.

One such legacy is the annual Southland A&P Show, hosted for over 150 years. To honour this tradition, Easy Big Trees donate one fruit tree to the Grand Champion Junior. This year the chosen tree was a PRUNUS armenica ‘Tomcot’ – Fruiting Apricot.
Celebrating Autumn in Southland
As we celebrate this beautiful season, we encourage everyone to take a moment to appreciate the Autumn landscape. The golden hues of the leaves, the cool, crisp air, and the sense of peace that comes with this time of year are something we hold dear. It’s a reminder that, just as the trees shed their leaves and prepare for Winter, we, too, can embrace change and renewal in our own lives.
Here at Easy Big Trees, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of trees and ensuring that Southland’s natural beauty and heritage live on for years to come. As Autumn settles in, we look forward to continuing to serve our community, honour the past, and celebrate the changing of the seasons. Whether you’re admiring the fall foliage or planting your own tree, remember that each step you take is part of a larger, beautiful cycle.
