Team Spotlight – Meet Tory

Spring has arrived across Aotearoa, bringing lighter mornings, warmer soil and that familiar lift in the air. The Spring Equinox has just passed, that moment where daylight and darkness sit in balance before the light begins its steady return. With daylight savings, evenings stretch out again, giving everyone more time to be outside, to garden, to walk the whenua and to reconnect with the spaces they care for. It’s a seasonal shift that feels good for the wairua and good for the garden.

It’s also the perfect time to spotlight someone who brings calm, care and consistency to our team…

Tory

Proudly Ngāpuhi and originally from the Far North. She carries a strong family first ethos and a grounded approach to her work. Whether she’s supporting customers, coordinating orders or keeping our busy nursery running smoothly, Tory brings a steady presence that reflects her connection to whenua and whakapapa. She’s happiest with her hands in soil or watching the waves roll in at Bluff, and that quiet appreciation for the natural world shows in everything she does.

Her role sits at the heart of the nursery’s daily rhythm. She’s the person who makes sure communication is clear, details are correct and customers feel supported from the moment they get in touch. It’s work that often happens behind the scenes, but it’s essential to keeping the nursery moving through the busy Spring season. As plants wake, orders increase and projects begin to roll out, Tory’s organisation and tactical approach help keep everything on track.

Spring is a time of renewal, as the days lengthen and gardens begin to shift.

Springtime

Tory has chosen a classic fruiting favourite for her seasonal pick.

Nectarine ‘Goldmine’ – a reliable fruiting nectarine with sweet, white flesh and great seasonal performance. A timeless choice for home gardens and community spaces.
