He also has a keen interest in park related projects much like the Chinese garden, which is why Simon has chosen the JUNIPERUS chinensis Kaizuka – Hollywood Juniper.

An upright, evergreen tree in the Cupressaceae family with blue-green cones and produces glaucous berries. A perfect variety for ‘cloud pruning or topiary’ and ‘bonsai’. This conifer is native to Asia. With its blue-hued foliage, it would make a great companion plant with blue-toned flowers and berries. It also looks good when combined with low growing groundcovers such as Viburnum davidii.

Introduced to the United States in 1920 from Japan. It became popular for landscaping in Los Angeles leading to its more common name ‘Hollywood Juniper’. With a good salt tolerance this species would be great for Coastal and Architectural Landscapes, as well as Cottage and Informal gardens additionally can also be shaped to suit your project.

A very ornamental tree with a Zen-like twisty form giving great character. A conifer native to the Himalayas, China and Japan. Hardy and tolerant of a wide range of conditions, can also be shaped to suit your project.
