Red Oak

A native of North America and the state tree of New Jersey, the Red Oak has the most amazing fiery red leaves in Autumn. This spectacular show adds colour and drama to any setting. It also adds the most delightful crunch underfoot as you walk over the fallen leaves. It really all is about those leaves too, they have the most remarkable structure and are about the largest of all oak leaves, at around 15cm long and 8cm wide. Well suited as an avenue or specimen tree, the deciduous red oak will grow to 10 x 7 m.

Suitable for: Park-like, avenue or specimen tree.

Features: Large leaf with strong, deep red autumn colour.
