POLLARDING Planes – PLATANUS acerifolia – London Plane

London Plane Tree - PLATANUS acerifolia (pollarded) - Rotorua

London Plane Tree – This rather mystical looking living formation is a popular tree form used extensively in Europe & Britain. Creates real character as shown in this beautiful example (photo taken in winter) in Rotorua, NZ. This example could be 80+ years old.

A fantastic way to include a lovely larger tree like the Platanus acerifolia – London Plane, in smaller areas from street plantings (as shown in photo in Alexandra) and in courtyards & public spaces. A form with real character!
